As a new generation of consoles dawns, it's time for fans to revisit the world of Devil May Cry. Its fans are a little older and maybe a little wiser, and a whole new generation of gamers is about to learn what lightning-fast action gaming really looks like. As well as all the original DMC5 content, this Special Edition also features the epic Vergil Mode, too! It's been a few years since Devil May Cry 4 within the world of DMC, too. A long forgotten power is on the rise, and the seeds of a demon tree taking root in Red Grave City is just the start of it. Cue up some brutal hack 'n' slash action complemented with a sizable portion of gunplay! Reflecting the time that's passed, our demon-hunting hero Dante is looking a little more grizzled, too. Still, the son of the legendary Dark Knight Sparda is ready to eviscerate some supernatural nasties in the name of saving the world once again. He's got help, though! His nephew and rival, Nero, is also playable in this game. He's lost his demon arm and with it much of his power, but in its place is something that might just be cooler - a robotic arm called the Devil Breaker. The awesome twist is that it can be upgraded and swapped out, even incorporating parts from demons you've obliterated. It brings an element of strategy and resource management that Capcom says was inspired by Resident Evil, and it looks really awesome for good measure. Dante's got a few new moves of his own, though. Buzzsaw weapons that also combine into a motorbike, anyone? Then there's the mysterious new demon hunter known as V. But he's just going to have to remain a mystery until you dig in for yourself... Conscious that this will be the first time in the DMC universe for a lot of fans, the dev team has given players a helping hand to ease them in. The 'easy auto' feature enables players to hold down an analog stick and have the AI take the reigns for a moment to show them how it's done. There's plenty of fan service in the mix for DMC veterans too. Look for old favourites like the Sin Scissors, rocking something that looks a lot like their original design brought up to date with borderline photorealistic graphics. Plus, with three characters in the mix there's also the option to go online for some fast and furious multiplayer action! If over-the-top, technicolour gore is something you need in your life, Devil May Cry 5 will be right in your wheelhouse.
