Providing something for everyone, MTV Music Generator 2's Song-block Libraries embrace a wide range of different music styles - there are 8 styles to work with: Pop, House, Hip Hop, Garage, Indie, R&B, Rock and Trance. In addition to the 8 music genre libraries, there are over 9000 component samples including Vocals, Instruments, Percussion, Nature and Soundstage Effects. You can also add real-time generated effects to your track with effects such as echo, chorus, flange and phase. The memory capability is quadrupled which makes using and editing Song-block riffs much easier. Want to hear a preview or incorporate a new riff into your track? You can hear it immediately - there's none of the noticeable disc-access and riff-loading delays, which provides for a more flowing and flexible feel to digital music creation. The main user interface screen - the track creation workspace - has been rethought from top to bottom, literally. One of the first most obvious evolutions since the original Musics is that the workspace has been flipped 90-degrees and scrolls vertically rather than horizontally so, as you're building your track, the screen scrolls down through the track. The point of scrolling vertically is down to one very simple reason - being a PlayStation 2 title, MTV Music Generator 2 will be viewed on TV screens, a lot of them widescreens. TV screens are wider than they are higher. Scroll a track vertically and you can see a lot more on screen at once than you could if it followed the traditional horizontal approach.
